Asian Exchange Programs
The reciprocal exchange enables UNT students to attend a host university for a semester or year at about the same cost as UNT and to participate fully in the life of the university.
Exchange students enroll in host university courses as regular students and are responsible for all course work and examinations. Students live in university accommodations and participate fully in the life of the host campus.
Requirements
60 or more credit hours (including transfer hours)
3.00 GPA
Selection Procedures
Interested students must complete an Exchange Program application and components, arrange for faculty recommendations, provide a personal statement, provide official transcripts, and be interviewed by an International Exchange Review Committee.
Deadlines
Year – March 1
Semester – October 1
Tuition/Fees/Financial Aid
Tuition/fees are paid at UNT; other expenses (room/board, personal expenses, etc.) are paid at the host university.
Students are required to purchase the UNT-International insurance. The cost is $126 for one semester and $252 for an academic year.
All normal financial aid (except Work Study) applies to an exchange program. Consult Financial Aid Office for details. Students not currently receiving regular financial aid should not expect to receive assistance for this program, but the International Education Fee Scholarship will be available to UNT students who have been enrolled within the past 12 months.
Credit for exchange semester/year
Coursework earned on exchange is posted to the student’s UNT transcript as transfer credit.
Other Exchange Processes
Students will work with the exchange coordinator of the GLE to pre-approve courses, submit application materials for the home and host universities, coordinate payment for insurance and generally facilitate the exchange process.
Students are required to attend an outgoing orientation given by the Center for Global Learning. Family and friends are also encouraged to attend the orientation.
