Course enrollment is very important in maintaining F-1 and J-1 student status while in the U.S. Students who are holders of these visa types are responsible for ensuring that they meet the course enrollment requirements.

Enrollment at Frisco Campus: Currently, F-1 international students are not eligible to enroll in more than 50% of their classes at the New College in Frisco. UNT has applied for approval from the Department of Homeland Security to host F-1 international students at the New College on a full time basis but until that request has been approved, F-1 students must enroll in at least 50% of their classes at UNT. Classes at the New College do not count towards on-campus requirements and cannot be used in combination with online only classes at UNT.

If you think that you may need to drop a course and will be below the minimum credit hours (Undergraduates 12 credit hours, Graduates 9 credit hours), take a course at another institution in addition to courses here, or if you are interested in taking an online course, please read the information below and then contact our office BEFORE you take any action.
