Ms. Martin is an ESL Instructor in the KGU Super IES program in Hirakata, Japan. She holds a BA in German from Baylor University and an MA in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from Indiana University. She has over 10 years of ESL/EFL experience, having worked in the US, Germany, Serbia, and Japan with high school students, university students, and refugees. Her research interests include best teaching practices for advanced second language writing and designing second language literacy courses for refugees. When she's not in the classroom, she enjoys reading non-fiction, playing board games, and cross-stitching.
She firmly believes that the KGU Super IES program is an ideal place for Japanese students hoping to study abroad to pursue English language education. The program brings the proven UNT IELI program to Japan so students can have two years of intense study before they go abroad to the US, Canada, Europe, East Asia, Australia, or New Zealand.
