Gordon Clark serves as the Director and Assistant Dean of the Intensive English Language Institute. In addition to teaching at and directing university-based programs in the United States for several years, Clark taught English in Japan for three years. His professional engagement includes service as a former president of EnglishUSA, a site reviewer for the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), and advocacy vice president for both University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) and EnglishUSA. He is thrilled to introduce students to IELI at UNT with its history of excellence of teaching English mastery and preparing students for university study since 1977. He has a master’s degree in TESL from Brigham Young University.
In his time outside of work, Clark loves to visit museums and travel with his family. They have been to every U.S. state except Alaska and too many museums to count. He is also a volunteer to help people find connections in their family history and loves to eat many varieties of international food with their unique flavors and history. He and his wife have two married children and two precious granddaughters!
