Texas Public Education Grant - International

Applications open in September

The purpose of the TPEG-I is to provide limited financial assistance to eligible non-immigrant international students on F and J visas. Students must demonstrate financial need to pay the estimated minimum tuition, fees, and other expenses for enrollment in UNT credit-bearing coursework. 

  • IELI students and non-degree seeking students are not eligible for the TPEG-I
  • Students on Optional Practical Training will not be considered for TPEG-I awards

An award is not guaranteed. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review.

Eligibility Requirements

  • F or J student visa holder with current passport and required immigration documents.

  • Student must be enrolled at UNT one full academic year prior to application.

  • Student must be enrolled AT LEAST half time at time of award

    • Halftime enrollment for undergraduates is 6 credit hours.

    • Halftime enrollment for graduates is 5 credit hours.

    • Preference will be given to students enrolled fulltime.

  • Student must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at time of application.

  • Preference will be given to students paying out-of-state/non-resident tuition.

  • Students with past due balances at time of funding are not eligible.

TPEG-I does NOT include a tuition waiver. Grants do not need to be repaid.

If awarded, funding will be applied directly to UNT tuition at the end of October.
