Call for Applications for Cost-Share Funding Support of up to $600: Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program to Colombia

The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Education and enables U.S. educators to participate in short-term seminars abroad that enhance their understanding about other countries and cultures for the purpose of internationalizing curriculum and courses. The 2024 “Climate Change and Sustainability in Colombia” seminar will explore various components of Colombia’s environmental and sustainability landscape. The Program will be held for four weeks in June-July 2024 (exact dates to be determined) and include visits to cultural hubs and public and private universities in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali, Leticia, and Medellín.  Participants are expected to provide $750 in cost-share to defray pre-departure orientation costs; passport and visa fees; inoculations; gifts for host country presenters and schools; short-term overseas insurance coverage; books and other curriculum materials; and personal expenses. UNT International Affairs is accepting applications from faculty for cost-share funding support up to $600. UNT faculty must demonstrate college/department cost-share in the amount of $150.

Global Venture Fund

The Global Venture Fund provides small awards for international collaborative projects involving the following project categories: (a) hosting academic conferences at UNT, (b) hosting visiting international scholars at UNT, and (c) conducting collaborative research/creative scholarly activities abroad.

Charn Fund

The Charn Uswachoke International Development Fund (Charn Fund) is a generous endowment from Mr. Charn Uswachoke, an alumnus from Thailand. The Charn Fund supports faculty initiatives that prepare internationally competent UNT graduates within the following curricular and co-curricular internationalization categories: (a) study abroad site visits, (b) global speakers: as part of the curriculum, and (c) international co-curricular programs.

GREAT Grant

The Graduate Research Experiences Abroad Travel (GREAT) Grant provides funding for graduate students to undertake research abroad (outside of the U.S.) that is related to their thesis/dissertation.

International Travel Grant for Graduate Students

The International Travel Grant supports the professional development and global scholarship of UNT graduate students. UNT graduate students must receive a Toulouse Graduate School Travel Grant AND present research or a creative activity at a professional meeting/venue abroad (outside of the U.S.)
