Orientation Requirements for International Students

Welcome to UNT! Orientation programs are designed to help students successfully transition to the university. As an international student, you will participate in orientation activities specific to your status as a visa holder, as well as orientation activities specific to your enrollment status. You must complete all orientation requirements prior to registering for classes. 

International Student Requirements

All F and J visa holders (this includes international freshman, transfer and graduate students) must complete the following:

Eagle WINGS  (Welcome! International New Student Guide to Success)

FALL 2024 WINGS WILL OPEN IN MAY 2024

Canvas App

Eagle WINGS is an online course in Canvas. The course is best accessed on a personal computer or laptop. The Canvas App is available for mobile devices running Apple iOS and Android OS for those students without access to a personal computer or laptop.

F & J degree-seeking students will receive an email to enroll in WINGS prior to the start of the semester. Questions? Contact us.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE Students:

Graduate Orientation 
Teaching Assistants/Teaching Fellows are required to take the Teaching Excellence Seminar
Graduate Students in the College of Music must attend College of Music orientation and placement exams at the time specified in the Music Admission letter.
Graduate Students in other Colleges may require department orientations. Please check with your department.
