The International Affairs Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Council cultivates an inclusive and welcoming environment for all faculty, staff, and students through action and engagement in anti-discriminatory practices, anti-racism education, community empowerment, and campus internationalization.

Goals Spring and Summer 2021

  • Develop mission statement and outline DEI goals and objectives
  • Create professional development program for International Affairs faculty and staff for spring and summer 2021

    Launch International Affairs DEI website

  • Recruit Graduate and Undergraduate Student Committee Members 
    • Selection by September 1, 2021

Goals Fall 2021 and Spring 2022

  • Host student focus groups
    • Feeling welcome at UNT          
    • Feeling safe off-campus 
  • Create internationally-focused library of resources for faculty and staff to access as needed  
    • International student learning and communication styles 
    • International cultural norms and stereotypes 
  • Increase diversity and inclusion resource awareness among international populations at UNT
  • Continue professional development plan for IA faculty and staff
    • Fall 2021 announcement by September 1, 2021
  • Develop 2022 UNT Equity and Diversity Conference session proposal
