Pat Barroero has more than a decade’s experience teaching English and ESL in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She received her Doctorate in Education from Saint Peter’s University (U.S.A.), her Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics/TESOL from Montclair State University (U.S.A.), and her Master of Arts in English Literature from The Open University, (U.K.). She has also obtained her undergraduate degree from Luxembourg University (Luxembourg). After teaching ESL in various colleges and universities in New Jersey, she was an English Lecturer at Wenzhou-Kean University, in Wenzhou, China, from 2015 to 2017. Once back to the United States, she served as the Associate Director of ESL and Academic Foundations English at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey. During her tenure there, from 2018 to 2024, she focused on helping students succeed by teaching and overseeing programs such as Learning Communities, Transitional Programs, and Accelerated Summer Bridge and Enrichment courses. In her free time, Pat enjoys spending time with her friends, hiking, and meeting new people during her travels. She has a deep interest in all the arts and all forms of human expression, and she enjoys live music and good food. She has also dedicated a number of years volunteering at various animal shelters, and she loves giving deserving pets a second chance.
