UNT Renews Partnership with Peace Corps for Peace Corps Prep Program

RULE PUBLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

A new federal immigration rule has been published. The effective date is September 15.
The rule replaces Duration of Status (D/S) with fixed‑date admissions for student and exchange visitor visa holders in the U.S., and makes changes to regulations related to educational objectives, including requirements affecting transfers, changes of major, and changes of degree level.

The University of North Texas has renewed its partnership with the U.S. Peace Corps, reaffirming its commitment to preparing students for global careers through the Peace Corps Prep Program.

The UNT Peace Corps Prep Certificate is an undergraduate certificate program offered in collaboration with the U.S. Peace Corps. Open to students from any major, the program provides work-integrated learning experiences designed to help students develop the skills and competencies sought by the Peace Corps and other internationally focused employers.

Through the certificate program, students gain opportunities to build professional and leadership skills while developing intercultural competencies through coursework, service, and hands-on experiences. Participants can also tailor their academic and experiential learning toward areas of global interest, helping them stand out in an increasingly interconnected workforce.

Established in 2016 by UNT International Affairs and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the Peace Corps Prep Program has helped students explore pathways to international service, community engagement, and careers that address global challenges.
