Originally from Belleville, Illinois, Ian Randall began working as a peer writing
tutor while studying theatre at Columbia College Chicago. This amazing experience
led him to an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northeastern Illinois
University, as well as teaching positions at various universities and language schools
in Chicago. Prior to joining the IELI, Ian was a Global Teaching Fellow at Tokyo International
University where he also worked as an assessment coordinator. He greatly enjoys using
his background in theatre and storytelling to help students improve their language
and communication skills. Outside of teaching, Ian enjoys the performing and visual
arts, as well as cooking, traveling, reading, and listening to audiobooks and podcasts.
