RULE PUBLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT
A new federal immigration rule has been published. The effective date of this rule is delayed due to a preliminary
injunction order issued on September 14, 2026.
We will update our webpage as more information becomes available.
The rule replaces Duration of Status (D/S) with fixed‑date admissions for student
and exchange visitor visa holders in the U.S., and makes changes to regulations related
to educational objectives, including requirements affecting transfers, changes of
major, and changes of degree level.

Global Faculty Fellow Program
The Global Faculty Fellow program is a year-long faculty leadership experience focused on advancing campus internationalization for faculty. Fellows receive mentorship from International Affairs in the areas of global teaching, scholarship, and engagement.
During the fall 2026 semester, fellows will participate in and contribute to a Community of Practice (CoP) offered by International Affairs and the LEEF Teaching Hub.
During the spring 2027 semester, fellows will lead applied projects that strengthen global learning, globally focused curricular initiatives, and globally inclusive pedagogy.
The 2026-27 Academic Year application deadline is April 20, 2026.
Global Faculty Fellow Expectations
Participants in the Global Faculty Fellow (GFF) Program will:
- Develop applied expertise in curriculum internationalization and pedagogy to prepare students for a global workforce
- Contribute sustainable resources, standards, or frameworks supporting global learning at UNT
- Lead or strengthen Communities of Practice focused on internationalized teaching
- Design faculty-facing tools such as models for collaborative online international learning (COIL) or global curriculum workshops
- Advance institutional capacity for internationalization through scalable, practice-based projects
Application Requirements
Applicants to the Global Faculty Fellow Program must submit a complete application
package as a single PDF document submitted to internationalaffairs@unt.edu. The application should clearly demonstrate how the fellow will contribute to institutional
internationalization priorities while embedded within International Affairs.
Application Components
1. Letter of Intent (1-2 pages)
A concise overview of the proposed fellowship that answers the following questions:
- Why are you interested in serving as the Global Faculty Fellow?
- What types of previous, relevant experience do you offer to the position?
- What are your anticipated contributions to UNT and your academic department?
- How does serving as the Global Faculty Fellow advance your professional trajectory?
2. Biographical Sketch or Curriculum Vitae
- Current CV (no page limit, recommended ≤5 pages)
- Emphasis on international experience, leadership, and relevant expertise
3. Letters of Support
- Letter of Support from Department Head or Dean (1 page)
- Acknowledging workload adjustments and endorsing participation
Review Priorities
Priority consideration will be given to proposals that:
- Demonstrate cross-unit or cross-college relevance
- Produce scalable or replicable international models
- Strengthen long-term global engagement capacity
- Illustrate benefit to the applicant’s career growth
Expected Outcomes and Reporting
The Global Faculty Fellow will be expected to:
- Contribute to a Fall 2026 Community of Practice
- Submit a final written report at the conclusion of AY 2026–2027 summarizing activities, outcomes, and recommendations
- Deliver public or internal presentations to campus leadership or stakeholders
- Provide documentation that supports future internationalization planning and implementation
- With approval from International Affairs and the home college, the Global Faculty Fellow may request an extension of their experience into AY 2027-2028
