Most students (with the exception of Freshmen) live in apartments off-campus. Most
apartment communities in Denton begin accepting rental applications in January prior
to the start of the academic year. Most new leases begin July/August before the start
of classes.
- Begin your apartment search EARLY.
- Apartments within walking distance to campus fill up quickly!
- Plan to budget at least $900-$1500 each month for rent and utilities.
- Many Denton apartments are located on campus bus routes.
- Search for local apartments at apartments.com. UNT Reddit, Denton Reddit, and the North Texas (UNT) Student Apartments and Housing
group on Facebook are additional resources to begin your search. Many students look
to sub-let their apartments if they have to move out prior to the end of their lease.
- Student Living Communities offer furnished apartments and assistance with finding
suitable roommates.
- More traditional apartment communities offer un-furnished apartments.
- UNT does not provide temporary housing or accommodations when you arrive in the US.
- Temporary accommodations may be arranged with a local hotel.
You may also contact local leasing offices to find available apartments.
